Sunday Services
For the summer only, beginning June 21, 2009, we will have only one service at 10 am. We look forward to welcoming you to St John’s.
our Holy Communion Service.
During the rest of the year, the 9.30am Holy Communion Service is a more contemporary worship service, blending different styles of music with traditional liturgy. We use the Book of Alternative Services (BAS) at this service.
We have a worship band at St John’s who leads the music each 2nd and 4th Sunday, in collaboration with our organists. This worship service has also developed a very vibrant children’s church program, making it a popular choice for young adults, families and the young at heart.
On the 4th Sunday of the month, prayers for healing and anointing are offered.
11.15am Holy Communion Service
The 11.15am Holy Communion Service is our more traditional worship service. The music is led by the organist and choir. We use the Book of Common Prayer on the 1st Sunday of the month, the BAS is used every other Sunday. This service lends itself to a more contemplative style of worship and is upheld with great affection by many in the church who seek a quieter setting.
On the 4th Sunday of the month, prayers for healing and anointing are offered.
