The parishioners of St. John’s have continued to support the overseas seafarers who visit the ports of Roberts Bank and Vancouver. Primarily, this is by way of the many donations of men’s clothing items. This year they have been supplemented by a supply from our toque and afghan knitters. All these items continue to be sold at token prices to the visiting seafarers as a fund raiser.

Supplies of donated monthly Readers Digest Magazines, Canadian Geographics and soft cover cookbooks are taken with the clothing items. These periodicals are delivered freely to each ship on the daily visits by the three mission chaplains. Financial donations are always a welcome support of the Mission since some of other funding sources have been reduced in recent years.
